About Us
Who the South Carolina Martial Arts Alliance is
and what we are about.
The South Carolina Martial Arts Alliance is
comprised of a group of South Carolinas’ finest Martial Art
Instructors, living primarily in the city of Sumter.
Functioning as ONE cohesive body their areas of expertise engulf the
entire globe from, American Tae Kwon Do, Filipino Kali/Arnis,
Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Greek Pancration, Korean Kuk Sool Won, Japanese
Karate-do, and Chinese Kung Fu, Tai Chi, and many, many more.
These instructors came together through a common vision; they sought
to see the influence of the Martial Arts expand beyond the
four-walls of their dojos. Hence our motto "Strengthening the
martial arts through unity in the community."
The members of the alliance are: Shidoshi J.D. Olsen from the Keishidojo Martial Arts & Fitness Center", along with Sempai Shannon Vital Ryokushidojo, Private Instructor Richard M. The goal of the S.C.M.A.A. is to host as well as promote various events in Sumter as well as for the surrounding communities, such as Columbia, Florence, Manning, Camden, and Bishopville. Through these events and demonstrations as well as community involvement, the S.C.M.A.A. hopes to give children as well as adults healthy avenues in which to promote growth mentally, physically as well as spiritually, all through the gift of Martial Arts.
